What's the difference between an immobile Minmatar ship and a pile of garbage?
The pile of garbage is more lethal.

Transferring neural data is one thing, but materializing vehicles out of almost nothing is another.
Not to mention consciousness transfer has been in lore since 2003. Magic hasn't.

It wouldn't be magic, unless nanites are "magically" refilling your ammo and nades from nanohives. I was thinking along the same technology line that larger objects could also be generated. The materials, I was thinking the nanites themselves, would be contained within the module in the same way nanohives work. Okay? Or does your degree in what's possible in new Eden say otherwise? Nanohives are already close to breaking the suspension of disbelief as is, do you really want to go any further? But ammunition is simple. It's compact and relatively easy to produce. There's no way you could possibly store enough nanites to produce such a complex vehicle. It's not even remotely possible. Nanohives are infeasible, but not technically impossible.

Though vehicles dematerializing into nothing is almost as bad... That needs to be fixed, actually.

And give everyone auto-aim and homing bullets and scopes that allow you to headshot anyone from any range, with no sway whatsoever because superhuman clones full of combat enhancements should have perfect stability of aim. Plasma cannons now blow holes into the environment (let's see how you'll implement that) and MCCs can be damaged (even if only neglegibly) by infantry units and vehicles. And you can protect your MCC by catching NULL cannon fire with dropships. On the topic of dropships, everyone could shoot out of them with most weapons and the thrusters would be a deadly weapon against infantry. They would also have flight stabilizing software, instead of handling like drunken cows and no one in their right mind would design something that gains thrust by losing altitude, with no means of safe descent in case of emergency. Actually, just remove infantry combat altogether. Space ships in the setting are advanced enough to just point pinpoint warheads at the ground and eliminate every single infantry unit with a single payload and no collateral damage, similar to what modern day drone strikes already do. Those are some very stupid comparisons.

Sole Fenychs wrote:*pathetic moaning* The idea isn't just bad for lore, it's bad for gameplay, too.
Vehicles materializing out of nowhere? Yeah, it sounds awesome, but would it benefit the game as a whole?
